The Information We Collect and Use
Talentcity.net is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.
In order to use this website, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give their contact information, including their email address. This information is used to send a thank you note confirming the user's name and password, and is used to contact the user about the services on our site for which they have expressed an interest. Furthermore, the email address is a security measure to track people in case of legal problems. Your email address will be available to other registered users so that they may contact you regarding auditions or other issues. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information (such as income level and gender), and unique identifiers (such as social security number), but encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our site.
The types of personal information collected by Talentcity.net are as follows: Name, Day phone, Evening phone, Email address, Cell phone, City, Pager, State, zip, User name/password.
Type of enrollment desired: Actor, Model, Musician, Pet, Lyricist, Writer, Casting Director, Literary Agent, Music Manager, Talent agent, Music manager, Film maker.
Once you have chosen the type of enrollment, additional questions may be asked such as: ethnicity, height, weight, eye color, hair color, gender, age range, body type, union affiliation, agent's name, agent's phone, agent's email, type of animal, owner's name, animal's name.
This information is needed to bring various talents together. (For example, a casting director may be looking for a particular type of person.) Talentcity.net asks for your postal address to authorize the credit card payment address. You are only required to provide your name, email address, and for some enrollments, work phone. Providing any additional information is voluntary. However, you will probably want to provide this information in order to get the most out of the site. Talentcity.net never uses or shares the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on Talentcity.net's site. For instance, by setting a cookie on the site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on the site. Tell a Friend
If a user elects to use Talentcity.net's referral service for informing a friend about the site, it asks them for the friend's name and email address. Talentcity.net will automatically send the friend a one time email inviting them to visit the site. Talentcity.net stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one time email. The friend may contact Talentcity.net to request the removal of this information from their database.
Security
This website takes every precaution to protect user's information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, the information is protected both online and off line. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and insure the correct use of information, Talentcity.net has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information collected on line. When the registration form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card and/or social security number), the information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry. While on a secure page the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just surfing.
While Talentcity.net uses encryption to protect sensitive information on line, Talentcity.net also does everything in its power to protect user information off line. All user's information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in Talentcity.net offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Employees must use password protected screen savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must reenter their password to regain access to your information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up to date on security and privacy practices by written notification. Every month, as well as any time new policies are added, employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance placed on privacy, and what they can do to ensure the customer's information is protected. Finally the servers that store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment, behind a locked cage. Special Offers
Talentcity.net sends all new members a welcoming email to verify password and user name. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of users, Talentcity.net presents the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see Choice/Opt Out below.
Site and Service Updates
Talentcity.net also sends the user's site and service announcement updates via email. Members are not able to unsubscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. Talentcity.net communicates with the user to provide requested services in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.
Correcting/Updating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as their zip code), or if a user no longer desires to be a member of the service, Talentcity.net will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data that was provided to Talentcity.net. This can usually be done at the secured registered user area or by emailing customer support.
Choice/Opt Out
Users who no longer wish to receive the newsletter, promotional materials or special offers may opt out of receiving these communications by emailing Talentcity.net.
Message Boards
Talentcity.net warns users that disclosing personally identifiable information on line through chat rooms, forums and message boards makes the information submitted public information; such disclosure may increase the chance of receiving spam or unsolicited email. Talentcity.net warns users to be extra careful and to use their discretion when disclosing information online.
End of Current Subscription
Users may request by email to support@talentcity.net to have their personal information deleted from the site's database at the end of their current subscription to service. Deactivating refers to the process by which a database manager may delete personally identifiable information, upon request, from its database. Because of backups, and records of deletions, it may be impossible to delete a consumer's entry without some residual information. An individual who requests to have personally identifiable information deactivated will be functionally deleted, and Talentcity.net will not sell, transfer, or use the personally identifiable information relating to the user in any way.
Commitment to Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, Talentcity.net never collects or maintains information at this website from those actually known to be under thirteen. Talentcity.net is a marketing tool for talent. Children may be considered talent and may become members if such a membership is requested by their parents. The site is not directed at children, and advertising and marketing will occur in adult contemporary radio to reach the desired adult/parental audience. As the payment for membership is via credit card number only, it is expected that children will only be signed up by their parents.
Notification of Changes
If Talentcity.net decides to change this privacy policy, those changes will be posted on our home page so that users are always aware of what information is collected by Talentcity.net, how it is used, and under what circumstances, if any, it is disclosed. If at any point Talentcity.net decides to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, users will be notified by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not their information is used in this different manner. Information will be used in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
